What Our Customers Say

"Our biggest issue, initially, was how to utilize a single database for our clients that had more than one legal entity, and had intricate needs for reporting at both the subsidiary and consolidated levels. The Multi-Facility Processing software effectively structured these entities so that we could manage them out of one database, while still being able to easily to generate reports individual entity level or for the company as a whole."

Multi-Facility Processing helps Software Company Consolidate Processing, Boost Reporting and Profitability

This e-business, ERP solution and Supply Chain Management software provider was facing a Microsoft Dynamics GP challenge in their multi-entity management for their geographic business operations. As a software supplier, their implementations happened all over the USA and due to state tax rules, they needed to recognize their revenues under specific taxation guidelines. Because of this, each state they operated in had its own database within Microsoft Dynamics GP. As their business continued to grow, managing these databases was becoming increasingly complex as they continued to add more customers and more regions within Microsoft Dynamics GP.

Complex Management of Multiple Databases
Managing multiple databases was proving to be a growing challenge. Accurately identifying which transactions belonged to which locations and matching tax data to these locations was a difficult and inefficient process. Producing accurate consolidated reports for each division was hugely time consuming and impacted the company with additional man-hours that added up to $50,000 a year.

In addition, due to the numerous databases, internal and external audits were overly expensive and added up to well over $60,000 a year. Errors found in any report influenced all of the locations, thereby amplifying the costs of any errors found. Going back and checking the source data was an ordeal, one which this company wished to resolve.

Multi-Facility Processing and the Single Database Design

With the need to consolidate their complex processing, the software company found a solution in Multi-Facility Processing’s ability to structure their operations centrally out of one consolidated database. This structure ensured IT savings by directly cutting down the number of databases used and helped to streamline many of their manual data entry processes.

For reporting, the company would be able to run consolidated reports just as easily as divisional reports. This flexibility would enable them to look at their business both on the geographic level as well as a holistic view of the entire company. This would reduce the time needed to audit every database, as well as the overall cost of auditing. With better data management and shared master file accounts such as customer and vendors, their reporting would be more accurate among their various divisions.

After finishing their process reviews, the software company decided that Multi-Facility Processing would positively impact their organization and they proceeded with the project. After only one year of using the software, the company had already saved $241,000 in processing, audit, tax and IT costs.
