Sales and Marketing Assistant

This opportunity will allow the chosen students to develop a clear understanding of:
- The sales and marketing activities within a software company with an indirect sales channel
- The sales and Marketing tactics used in the Microsoft Partner Channel
- The processes and challenges of growing a software development company
- General operations of a business
Primary responsibilities:
- Solution listing and management ( Update website and other websites to include latest solutions and information)
- Updating account information
- Gathering references and submitting them to various sources and consolidating records
- Microsoft MapPoint development
- Order processing
- List cleaning/telemarketing
- Conduct telemarketing to acquire more leads and to develop a contact database
- Marketing research (product, industry, competition)
- Process (Workflows)/standards documentation
- Task scheduling and follow-ups
- Web development
- SEO research and reporting
- Web updates/publishing
- Webinar scheduling
- Office purchases (supplies, equipment, photostocks)
- Editing of marketing materials and various business communication documents
- Support managers in day-to-day functioning of professional life including scheduling, filing, contact management, and other related functions
Experience required:
- Proficient with computers, self-directed when faced with support issues, and proficient in the use Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, Front Page and Internet Explorer
- Experience in general principals of office management and knowledge of corporate practices and procedures is an asset
- Experience with web site management software an asset
- Experience with DreamWeaver an asset
- Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
- Must be able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment along with the ability to accept interruptions as part of the routine
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information
- Self-starter approach to work, with an eagerness to consistently meet and exceed objectives and take on more responsibility
